In some cases ONIX data received by the Library contains an Internet address (URL) indicating that the publisher or data provider has a sample text for the book available. The samples themselves might consist of such things as a first chapter, book jacket illustration, images, etc. - - information that readers or prospective users of a book would find of interest. This project makes links from LC catalog records to copies of these sample texts, that with the publisher's permission, have been stored at the Library to insure long-term availabilty. By linking the catalog record to these items, the project significantly enhances the information about a book that the Library makes available to a researcher.
