Congressman Denham Announces Committee Assignments for the 113th Congress

Dec 4, 2012

WASHINGTON, DC — U.S. Representative Jeff Denham (R-Turlock) today announced that he has been appointed to serve on the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure as well as the House Committee on Agriculture during the 113th Congress.  A request has also been submitted by Denham to the House Republican Steering Committee requesting a waiver to serve on a third committee of either the House Committee on Veterans Affairs or the House Committee on Natural Resources.

“As a Central Valley farmer, I understand the specialized needs of various sectors of our agriculture economy. A position on the House Agriculture Committee will allow me to bring the voice of California’s largest industry to the table when discussing federal policy and reform, including the impending Farm Bill,” said Denham. “I will also continue my work from my seat on the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure to make sure we continue to improve California’s infrastructure needs.”

Rep. Denham will serve his second term on the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, on which he previously served as Chairman of the Subcommittee on Economic Development, Public Buildings, and Emergency Management in the 112th Congress.  Subcommittee assignments for the 113th Congress have not yet been determined. Additional information can be found on the Transportation Committee website at http://transportation.house.gov/Default.aspx/.

Denham will serve his first term on the House Committee on Agriculture, chaired by Rep. Frank Lucas (R-OK), in the 113th Congress. More information on the House Agriculture Committee can be found on their website at http://agriculture.house.gov/.
