Sappers clear route for combat outpost

Dominic Basilio, the platoon leader for 2nd Platoon, 102nd Sapper Company, 307th Engineer Battalion (Combat Airborne), 20th Engineer Brigade, out of Fort Bragg, N.C., walk to their trucks after detonating an anti-tank mine near Combat Outpost Charkh, Oct. 14, 2012. The 102nd SC conducted a three-day route clearance patrol to ensure safety of movement to and from COP Charkh. The 102nd suffered no losses and accomplished their mission in nearly half the time originally set apart for the operation.
