On June 7, 2010, Rep. Petri joined with Danish Crown Prince Frederick Andre Henrik Christian, Ambassador of Denmark Friis Arne Petersen, two-time NBA all-star Caron Butler and House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman Jim Oberstar for a bike ride down Pennsylvania Ave. and down to the Lincoln Memorial and back to check out new bike lanes, celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Danish Embassy, and get the word out about the importance of getting kids on bikes. Petri is a co-chairman of the Congressional Bike Caucus.
