Maps. Maps take a whole new turn.

Designed by Apple from the ground up, Maps gives you turn-by-turn spoken directions, interactive 3D views, and the stunning Flyover feature.1 All in a beautiful vector-based interface that scales and zooms with ease.

Designed for iOS 8

Maps goes full screen to use every inch of your big beautiful Retina display. Maps also takes advantage of the ambient light sensor built into your iOS device. So if you’re in a dimly lit place or driving at night, you can view an easy-on-the-eyes night mode version of the map you’re looking at. When everything’s easier to read, it’s harder to get lost.

Traffic

With Maps, you get real-time traffic information to calculate your ETA. Maps gives you details on what’s causing a backup, so you can tell if there’s a major incident or just a temporary slowdown. And if traffic’s a mess, Maps offers alternative routes to save you time.

Flyover

See select major metro areas from the air with photo-realistic, interactive 3D views. Explore cities in high resolution as you zoom, pan, tilt, and rotate around the city and its landmarks.

Siri

No matter where you roam, Siri can help you find your way.2 To get to your destination, ask Siri to take you there and Maps immediately guides you along the fastest route. And if you feel peckish on the way, ask Siri to look for the closest hamburger joint or diner.

iCloud

When you hear about a great new spot — like a restored drive-in movie theater or a restaurant-slash-boutique — save it as a bookmark in Maps. And spare your future self the need to remember the names and addresses of those places all over again. iCloud stores the locations you’ve bookmarked, so they’re accessible on your Mac, iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch.3 iCloud also lets you send a map from your Mac running OS X Mavericks straight to your iPhone. When you’re signed in to iCloud on both devices, your phone shows up in the Share menu on your Mac. So you can plan your trip at your desk and get turn-by-turn voice navigation on the go.
