The 10th Annual Celebrity Night Out is being held Friday, January 18th from 6:00pm -11:00pm at CJ Callaway's in Sioux Falls. This event has turned into a major fundraiser for the Teddy Bear Den. Organizers say the proceeds directly benefit the 1149 limited income pregnant women enrolled in their program. There will be live music by the Hegg Brothers and amazing auction packages will be up for grabs. Those packages range from a weekend in the Black Hills, a wine tasting trip to Napa Valley, dinner with our Governor and Mrs. Dauggard at their residence, and chef's coming to your home as you host dinner for 20. Tickets are $50/ticket or table of ten for $500. As of Wednesday morning there is only one table left. Organizers say the big response from the community just shows how supportive and giving South Dakotans are.
The Teddy Bear Den offers help in many ways to limited income pregnant women and their children. Mothers who come to the Teddy Bear Den earn credits for healthy living and exchange them for necessary baby care items such as diapers, clothing and high chairs. Organizers of the Teddy Bear Den say their goal is to encourage local mothers to have healthier pregnancies, babies, and families. The Den works with mothers to promote prenatal care, education to make sure babies are getting immunizations as well as proper nutrition.
The Den is always looking for donations and for volunteers. All donations can be dropped off at the Teddy Bear Den, 13th and Main Avenue from 11:00am -1:00pm on any Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday. Below are some suggestions by the Den for things they can always use.
