The 2014 Corvette promises to be one of the most anticipated redesigns of the iconic American sports car, and Chevrolet is laying it on thick as it builds toward a Jan. 13 reveal date.

The new car will be unveiled next month at the Detroit Auto Show and GM has released several videos and other material to promote the date, including the conception trailer below:

GM has also been using social media to build interest in the release, particularly with the use of a Twitter hashtag, #one13thirteen, where countless links claim to show leaked drawings, engine specs and other details of the supercar.

In November, Chevrolet teamed with Sony to offer PlayStation 3 gamers a version of the car in the game Gran Turismo 5.

As CNet reports:

"Last month, Chevrolet partnered with Sony to offer a camouflaged prototype of the new Corvette in Gran Turismo 5, giving gamers an official look at the shape of the upcoming car. In the last few days, sketches of the new Corvette leaked to the Internet, confirming and elucidating details from the game vehicle.

Although retaining the same two-seater front-engine layout, the Corvette's profile looks more like a grand tourer, with a higher fastback design. The side view shows aggressive front fender vents."

The new C7 is also rumored to boast an improved interior, some of which is hinted at in this video:

It's not yet clear whether the C7 will be on display at the Houston Auto Show, which runs from Jan. 23-27 at Reliant Center. However, a high-end vehicle boutique will return for the second year, featuring Lotus, Aston Martin, Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini and Porsche. Read about last year's exotic cars here.

Chevrolet has confirmed that there will be a ZR1 Corvette with the 60th anniversary design package in Houston as well as its ZL1 Camaro, 2013 Spark, 2014 Impala and 2014 Silverado.
