November 2014

November 1 Join us for Microscope Day at the Science Museum on Saturday, November 1 from noon to 4 p.m. We have a variety of demonstrations that will be fun for all ages.
November 1 Attend a Spanish language screening of Flight of the Butterflies on Saturday, November 1 at 2 p.m. Spanish language soundtracks are available via headset during all other showings on a first-come, first-served basis. On November 1, however, the 2 p.m. public show will be entirely in Spanish, no headset required.
November 8 Saturday, November 8 is Butterfly Day at the museum. Visitors can see Flight of the Butterflies in the Omnitheater, see hundreds of live butterflies close up in the live butterfly house, and enjoy additional butterfly-themed activities and guest presenters, including the University of Minnesota's Monarch Lab and Save Our Monarchs. Butterfly Day activities will take place from noon to 4 p.m. and are included in exhibit gallery admission.

November 15 Visitors of all ages are invited to join FOX 9 and women scientists from throughout the area for the Girls & Science event on Saturday, November 15 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the museum. This community event is designed to foster girls' enthusiasm for science by showcasing female scientists in wide-ranging fields of science and technology. It's a perfect opportunity for parents to introduce their daughters to the Twin Cities' best and brightest science professionals and show them that science is vital to our changing world. The Girls & Science event is presented by FOX 9.
November 27 The Science Museum of Minnesota and Omnitheater will be closed on Thursday, November 27 for the Thanksgiving holiday.

December 2014

December 24 The Science Museum of Minnesota and Omnitheater will close at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 24 for the Christmas holiday.
December 25 The Science Museum of Minnesota and Omnitheater will be closed on Thursday, December 25 for the Christmas holiday.

January 2015

January 10 Celebrate African Americans in Science on Saturday, January 10 from 1-4 p.m. This event introduces visitors to some of the best and brightest scientists, inventors, and educators from the Twin Cities' African American community. Meet science and educational professionals, learn about what they do through interactive displays and presentations, and discover the inspiring contributions they've made to technology, education, health care, and innovation in Minnesota.
January 24 Celebrate ¡Amantes de la Ciencia! on Saturday, January 24 from 1-4 p.m. This event introduces visitors to science and education professionals from the Twin Cities' Latino communities. Participate in make-and-take activities, and enjoy entertainment with a Latino flair.
January 31 Celebrate American Indians in Science on Saturday, January 31 from 1-4 p.m. This event introduces visitors to individuals from the Twin Cities' American Indian community who have made significant contributions to science, engineering, and education. Meet presenters from a wide variety of disciplines who will share their areas of expertise through hands-on activities and dynamic displays.

February 2015

February 5 Social Science opens the Science Museum to adults only (21+ with valid ID) on Thursday, February 5 from 6-11 p.m. At In the Dark, explore a darkened museum and all that glows, flickers and shines this Social Science. With LED jewelry and laser mazes, luminescence and phosphorescence, it's an experience you won't want to miss.
February 14 Celebrate Asian Americans in Science on Saturday, February 14 from 1-4 p.m. meet science and education professionals who represent many geographic backgrounds, from SE Asia to the mainland and the Pacific Islands. Learn about what they do through interactive displays and presentations, and discover the inspiring contributions they've made to technology, education, health care, and innovation in Minnesota.

April 2015

April 9 Social Science opens the Science Museum to adults only (21+ with valid ID) on Thursday, April 9 from 6-11 p.m. At the Fermentational Informational, put beer under the microscope and celebrate the biology, chemistry and hand-to-mouth physics that delight your senses. With limited beer sampling from local breweries, fermentation demonstrations, beer density experiments, and presentations by experts.

June 2015

June 4 Social Science opens the Science Museum to adults only (21+ with valid ID) on Thursday, June 4 from 6-11 p.m. At Bike Night, pedal your way to the museum this Social Science, and get those mental gears turning. From the nanoscience behind lightweight bike frames to the physics that propels you forward, we'll be digging in deep with the science of cycling.
