Editors
Judd Legum is Editor-in-Chief of ThinkProgress. Previously, Judd was the Research Director for the Hillary Clinton for President campaign. He also worked at American Progress from 2003 to 2007, when he founded and edited ThinkProgress. Judd holds a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and a B.A. from Pomona College in Public Policy analysis. He is a member of the Maryland Bar and has practiced as an attorney, focusing on civil and criminal trial work. Judd has also appeared frequently on radio and television, including CNN, Fox News, MSNBC and CNBC.
Igor Volsky is the Deputy Editor of ThinkProgress.org. Igor is co-author of Howard Dean’s Prescription for Real Healthcare Reform and has appeared on MSNBC, CNN, Fox Business, Fox News, and CNBC television, and has been a guest on many radio shows. In 2011, Forbes named Igor one of their top 30 under 30 in Law & Policy. Igor grew up in Russia, Israel and New Jersey and graduated from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York. He was previously the Health and LGBT editor at ThinkProgress.

Ben Armbruster is National Security Editor for ThinkProgress.org at the Center for American Progress Action Fund. Ben grew up in Cleveland, Ohio and holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Ohio University and a master’s degree in international relations from King’s College London. Ben previously served as a national security research assistant at the Center for American Progress and has also held research positions at Media Matters for America; the Henry L. Stimson Center; and the Verification Research, Training and Information Centre in London. His work has been published in online and print outlets as well as various international security journals.
Pat Garofalo is Economic Policy Editor for ThinkProgress.org at the Center for American Progress Action Fund. Pat’s work has also appeared in The Nation, U.S. News & World Report, The Guardian, the Washington Examiner, and In These Times. He has been a guest on MSNBC and Al-Jazeera television, as well as many radio shows. Pat graduated from Brandeis University, where he was the editor-in-chief of The Brandeis Hoot, Brandeis’ community newspaper, and worked for the International Center for Ethics, Justice, and Public Life.
Ian Millhiser is a Senior Constitutional Policy Analyst at the Center for American Progress Action Fund and the Editor of ThinkProgress Justice. He received a B.A. in Philosophy from Kenyon College and a J.D., magna cum laude, from Duke University. Ian clerked for Judge Eric L. Clay of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, and has worked as an attorney with the National Senior Citizens Law Center’s Federal Rights Project, as Assistant Director for Communications with the American Constitution Society, and as a Teach For America teacher in the Mississippi Delta. His writings have appeared in a diversity of legal and mainstream publications, including the New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, U.S. News and World Report, Slate, the Guardian, the American Prospect, the Yale Law and Policy Review and the Duke Law Journal; and he has been a guest on CNN, MSNBC, Al Jazeera English, Fox News and many radio shows.
Alyssa Rosenberg is a culture reporter for ThinkProgress.org. She is a correspondent for TheAtlantic.com and The Loop 21.
Alyssa grew up in Massachusetts and holds a B.A. in humanities from Yale University. Before joining ThinkProgress, she was editor of Washingtonian.com and a staff correspondent at Government Executive. Amanda Peterson Beadle is a Reporter/Blogger at ThinkProgress.org. She received her B.A. in journalism and Spanish from the University of Alabama, where she was editor-in-chief of the campus newspaper The Crimson White and graduated with honors. Before joining ThinkProgress, she worked as a legislative aide in the Maryland House of Delegates. In college, she interned at the Scripps Howard Foundation Wire, the Press-Register (Mobile, Alabama), and the Ludington Daily News. She is from Birmingham, Alabama.
Eli Clifton is a national security reporter for ThinkProgress.org. Eli holds a bachelor's degree from Bates College and a master's degree in international political economy from the London School of Economics. He previously reported on U.S. foreign policy for Inter Press Service, where he served as deputy Washington bureau chief. His work has appeared on PBS/Frontline's Tehran bureau, The South China Morning Post, Right Web, Asia Times, LobeLog.com, and ForeignPolicy.com.
Tara Culp-Ressler is an editorial assistant at ThinkProgress.org. Before joining ThinkProgress, Tara deepened her interest in progressive politics from a faith-based perspective at several religious nonprofits, including Faith in Public Life, the National Religious Campaign Against Torture, and Interfaith Voices. Tara first came to D.C. to study Communications and Spanish at American University, where she also wrote for the student newspaper and advocated for women’s issues on campus. She is originally from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
Zack Ford is an LGBT researcher/blogger for ThinkProgress.org at the Center for American Progress Action Fund who hails from the small town of Newport, PA. Prior to joining ThinkProgress, Zack blogged for two years at ZackFordBlogs.com with occasional cross-posts at Pam’s House Blend. He also co-hosts a popular LGBT-issues podcast called Queer and Queerer with activist and performance artist Peterson Toscano. An accomplished pianist, Zack has a bachelor’s in Music Education from Ithaca College, where he served as student body president. His passion, however, is social justice education and advocacy, having completed a Master’s in Higher Education Student Affairs from Iowa State University and helped to found the Central Pennsylvania LGBT Aging Network. He’s originally (and proudly) from rural central Pennsylvania.
Ali Gharib is a national security reporter for ThinkProgress.org covering U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East, particularly Iran. Before joining the Center for American Progress, he wrote and blogged for Inter Press Service as well as the Columbia Journalism Review’s website, ForeignPolicy.com, and AlterNet, among other outlets.
Ali holds a B.A. in philosophy from Boston College, a M.S. in philosophy and public policy from the London School of Economics, and an M.S. in journalism from Columbia University.
Josh Israel is a senior investigative reporter for ThinkProgress.org at the Center for American Progress Action Fund. Previously, he was a reporter and oversaw money-in-politics reporting at the Center for Public Integrity, was chief researcher for Nick Kotz’s acclaimed 2005 book Judgment Days: Lyndon Baines Johnson, Martin Luther King Jr., and the Laws that Changed America, and was president of the Virginia Partisans Gay & Lesbian Democratic Club. A New England-native, Josh received a B.A. in politics from Brandeis University and was graduated from the Sorensen Institute for Political Leadership at the University of Virginia, in 2004. He has appeared on CNBC, Bloomberg, Fox News, and many radio shows across the country.
Scott Keyes is a senior reporter for ThinkProgress.org at the Center for American Progress Action Fund. Scott went to school at Stanford University where he received his B.A. in Political Science and M.A. in Sociology. He has appeared on MSNBC and TBD Newstalk TV and been a guest on many radio shows. His writing has been published by The Atlantic, Politico, the Christian Science Monitor, and the Chronicle of Higher Education. Scott comes to DC from southwest Ohio, a state very near and dear to his heart.
Rebecca Leber is a research assistant for the ThinkProgress war room. She graduated from the University of Rochester and holds a B.A. in political science and English with a minor in economics. Previously, she interned at ThinkProgress and blogged for a millennial website called PolicyMic. While in college, she was managing editor of the campus newspaper and held internships with an opinion polling firm and a N.Y. Assemblymember. Rebecca is originally from New York.
Adam Peck is a Reporter/Blogger for Think Progress at the Center for American Progress Action Fund. Adam grew up just outside of New York City, and attended Stony Brook University’s School of Journalism. Before joining Think Progress, Adam was an intern at Countdown with Keith Olbermann at MSNBC in New York, and at Campus Progress in Washington, D.C. He was also the founder and editor of Think Magazine, the largest collegiate news organization on Long Island. His work has appeared in The New York Times, CNN and the BBC.
Jeff Spross is video editor and blogger for ThinkProgress.org. Jeff was raised in Texas and received his B.S. in film from the University of Texas, after which he worked for several years as an assistant editor in Austin and Los Angeles. During that time Jeff co-founded, wrote and produced The Regimen, a blog and podcast dealing with politics and culture. Before joining American Progress, she worked for the community organizing non-profit Center for Community Change as a new media specialist. Travis Waldron is a reporter/blogger for ThinkProgress.org at the Center for American Progress Action Fund. Travis grew up in Louisville, Kentucky, and holds a BA in journalism and political science from the University of Kentucky. Before coming to ThinkProgress, he worked as a press aide at the Health Information Center and as a staffer on Kentucky Attorney General Jack Conway’s 2010 Senate campaign. He also interned at National Journal’s Hotline and was a sports writer and political columnist at the Kentucky Kernel, the University of Kentucky’s daily student newspaper.

Stephen Lacey is a reporter/blogger for Climate Progress, where he writes on clean energy policy, technologies, and finance. Before joining CP, he was an editor/producer with RenewableEnergyWorld.com. He received his B.A. in journalism from Franklin Pierce University.
Joe Romm is a Fellow at American Progress and is the editor of Climate Progress, which New York Times columnist Tom Friedman called "the indispensable blog" and Time magazine named one of the 25 "Best Blogs of 2010." In 2009, Rolling Stone put Romm #88 on its list of 100 "people who are reinventing America." Time named him a "Hero of the Environment″ and “The Web’s most influential climate-change blogger."
Romm was acting assistant secretary of energy for energy efficiency and renewable energy in 1997, where he oversaw $1 billion in R&D, demonstration, and deployment of low-carbon technology. He is a Senior Fellow at American Progress and holds a Ph.D. in physics from MIT.

Josh Dorner is the Communications Director for the ThinkProgress war room. He brings four years of experience heading up communications strategy and media for all of the Sierra Club’s energy and global warming work, as well as its other federal legislative campaigns and political work. He also served as deputy communications director at the Clean Energy Works campaign. Prior to Sierra Club, Josh worked as an account executive at a PR firm that primarily served nonprofits, independent film distributors, and other arts projects. Josh graduated from Grinnell College with honors degrees in political science and French. He also holds a master of science in European politics and governance from the London School of Economics.
Jessica Goad is the Manager of Research and Outreach for American Progress’ Public Lands Project. Previously she was on staff at The Wilderness Society, where she focused on fossil and renewable energy on public lands. Her interest in land conservation stems from her experience growing up in Golden, Colorado, at the base of the Rocky Mountains. Jessica holds a B.A. in political science and environmental and technology studies from Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota.

Alex Brown is an intern for ThinkProgress.org. Originally from California, Alex recently finished her second year of law school at the Duke University School of Law where she is also pursuing an M.A. in Political Science. Prior to coming to ThinkProgress, she interned at Appalachian Voices as a Legislative Fellow.
Angela Guo is an intern for ThinkProgress.org. As a rising junior at Rice University, she is currently majoring in History and Policy Studies and was recently awarded a fellowship from the Baker Institute for Public Policy to pursue a full-time policy oriented internship in Washington D.C. Prior to coming to ThinkProgress, Angela interned at National Public Radio’s From The Top and is an active volunteer with Obama for America.
Ben Sherman is an intern for ThinkProgress.org. A native New Yorker and current undergraduate at the University of Texas at Austin, Ben has worked both on campaigns and as a blogger. In 2010, Ben was the Communications Coordinator of the Bill White for Texas gubernatorial campaign and in 2011, he became a staff writer for Texas’ most widely-read progressive blog, Burnt Orange Report.
Steven Perlberg is an intern for ThinkProgress.org hailing from Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. He currently attends Washington University in St. Louis, where he is a writer and radio show host for the Washington University Political Review. Prior to coming to ThinkProgress, Steven interned in DC with Congressman Russ Carnahan.
Nina Liss-Schultz is an intern for ThinkProgress.org. From southern California, Nina is currently an undergraduate studying Political Science at Reed College in Portland, Oregon. At Reed, Nina helped found a student-run, on-campus crisis line for student survivors of sexual assault and relational abuse. In the past, Nina has interned at NARAL Pro-Choice Oregon and the Business and Human Rights Resource Centre.
