Remember the $1.5 million in iPads that were stolen on Monday, November 12? The New York Post is reporting that a JFK worker, Renel Rene Richardson, who was involved in this crime has now been arrested.

Renel Rene Richardson was allegedly acted as a lookout while the other two criminals loaded two pallets of iPad Minis onto a truck using forklifts and drove away.  Detectives also found that Richardson had made inquiries about the iPads and forklift after talking to his co-workers.

We don't know if the iPad minis have been recovered yet, and the New York Post says that the FBI declined to comment.

iPad Mini thief
Looks like someone couldn't wait to get their hands on Apple's new iPad minis. On Monday, around midnight crooks used one of JFK's own forklifts to load two pallets of Apple's iPad minis into a truck. They would have gotten away with three more pallets, but an airport worker was returning from dinner, so they had to leave it behind.

Sources are telling the New York Post that investigators have suspected that this may have been an inside job. Airport workers are being questioned and given polygraph tests.

Around 3,600 iPad minis were being shipped by a company called Cargo Airport Services. These iPad minis had arrived from China and were scheduled to be delivered to locations around the US.

Google Fiber installation starts today in Kansas City

Written By Hans Berger on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 | 7:29 PM

If you're living in Kansas City, today's your lucky day. Google has announced that they've started installing Google Fiber in Kansas city. With Google Fiber, Internet users can get download and upload speeds of up to 1 gigabit-per second (Gbps) for just $70 per month. That's really cheap and fast compared to all the other Internet Service Providers in America. Google chose to install Google Fiber in the Hanover Heights neighborhood first, and Ars Technica did an interview with someone from that area who quoted speeds of 600-700 Mbps with WiFi speeds of 200 Mbps.

Unfortunately the Google Fiber service is only available in certain areas in Kansas for now, and Google hasn't announced if it will be offering this in other states as well. If you live in Kansas you can check if Google Fiber is available in your area by going to http://fiber.google.com/cities/.

Below is a video describing the installation process of Google's Google Fiber service. If you live in Kansas City, and have or plan on getting Google Fiber, please share your experience with it below.
