The Pittsburgh Penguins return to the ice for the start of the shortened regular season on Saturday in Philadelphia. They're back in Pittsburgh the following Wednesday.
Are you ready for some hockey?
The NHL Players' Association ratified over the weekend the new collective bargaining agreement that ended the lockout that delayed the start of the 2012-13 season and canceled more than 500 games. A shortened season begins Jan. 19.
That's the day the Pittsburgh Penguins return to action at 3 p.m. in Philadelphia against the Flyers. You can watch it nationally on NBC. Sunday night the Penguins are again on the road, this time in New York against the New York Rangers.
They won't play at home until Jan. 23 against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
