Mexico’s drug traffickers practice torture techniques on dogs

In Mexico City, a Belgian shepherd named Pay de Limon, or Lemon Pie, is now running and jumping on prosthetic legs after his two front legs were cut off and he was reportedly left in a trash can to die, the AP reported.

Patricia Ruiz, the owner of the sanctuary where Pay de Limon is recovering, said drug traffickers used the dog to practice techniques for mutilating humans.

“Pay de Limon had the misfortune of running into an organised crime group and they used him to practice cutting off each one of his paws, like they do when they cut fingers off human beings that have been kidnapped,” Ruiz told Reuters.

According to the Toronto Sun, the rescue center raised $6,000 to buy prosthetic limbs for Pay de Limon from a company in Colorado.
