Temporary Replacement of PDF files for PFEI news releases
In preparation for the January 15, 2013, news release for the Producer Price Indexes, the PDF version of the news release at http://www.bls.gov/news.release/pdf/ppi.pdf will be replaced with a temporary file the afternoon before the release. This temporary file will be replaced with the most recent edition of the news release when it is published on the BLS website shortly after 8:30 A.M.
BLS is instituting this procedure to avoid confusion for users who begin accessing the link at 8:30 A.M. (or earlier) on January 15. Without this procedure, those who access the link before the new edition of the news release is published would see the previous edition of the news release instead of the edition they expect.
BLS will use this procedure for all seven Principal Federal Economic Indicators (PFEIs) it reports. These seven comprise the Employment Situation, the Employment Cost Index, Productivity and Costs, the U.S. Import and Export Price Indexes, the Consumer Price Index, Real Earnings, and the Producer Price Indexes. Archived versions of all of these releases will continue to be available at all times at http://www.bls.gov/schedule/archives/all_nr.htm.
