Giants defensive tackle Chris Canty has been named a recipient of this year's 33rd annual Thurman Munson Award, for both his on-the-field performance and philanthropic efforts through the Chris Canty Foundation. Other honorees are Yankees pitcher CC Sabathia, Mets first baseman Ike Davis, former Knick Greg Anthony and Olympian Aly Raisman. They will be recognized in New York City Feb. 5, at a gala in remembrance of the late Yankee captain and to benefit AHRC New York City, which supports programs for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Giants FB Henry Hynoski was named to the 2012 USA Football All-Fundamentals Team. Twenty-six NFL players (11 offense, 11 defense and four special teams) are honored as examples of using good technique for young players. Each player honored receives a $1,500 equipment grant to donate to the youth or high school football program of his choice. Players voted by fans as captains of the All-Fundamentals Team (www.facebook.com/usafootball through Jan. 21) will receive a $3,000 equipment grant.

The Giants signed three more players to reserve/futures contracts today: safety David Caldwell, and guards Bryant Browning and Chris DeGeare. Caldwell, a Montclair native, entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2010 and started 13 of 16 games for the Colts in 2011. Browning most recently was on the Panthers and Browns practice squads. DeGeare was a former fifth-round pick of the Vikings and started five games at left guard in 2010.
