FORT McPHERSON, Ga. (Feb. 23, 2011)-U.S. Army Forces Command (FORSCOM) G-1 Well-Being officials are steadily preparing for the command's 2011 Army Family Action Plan (AFAP) conference which will be held March 7-11, in Atlanta, Ga.
This year's conference will focus on Army Families being strong, dedicated and resilient.
The Army Family Action Plan is the Army's premiere program to improve Army quality of life. Through AFAP, all members of the Army, including Active, Reserve, and National Guard Soldiers, Family Members, retirees, surviving spouses, and DA Civilians have a forum to voice their concerns to Army leadership and make recommendations for change.
"FORSCOM senior leaders intensely listen to your concerns, because we want to do all we can to enhance your quality of life," said FORSCOM Deputy Commanding General, Lt. Gen., Howard B. Bromberg, "Your voice is an important part of the army family action plan process, and we want to hear from you."
About 50 delegates from FORSCOM units nationwide are expected to attend the conference and be responsible for prioritizing the command's top 22 quality-of-life issues to resolve through the AFAP process.
During the conference, delegates will be organized into small working groups. Each working group will review several quality-of-life issues that were identified command-wide over the last calendar year. After the working group sessions end March 10, delegates will brief a FORSCOM senior leader, March 11, on the top 22 prioritized issues.
