During 2013, we will be soliciting manuscripts on the surgical care of the aging population. The editorial board has selected this topic as our year-long theme. We will be interested in papers that focus on the field of geriatric surgery (on the decision whether to operate on elderly patients, what operation to perform, and which approach to take). Any manuscript using a clinical trial methodology to evaluate comparative effectiveness in the surgical care of the aging population will be appreciated. A formal call for papers will be placed in late 2012. Accepted manuscripts will be given priority publication.
During 2012, we are soliciting manuscripts on Building a Surgical Expertise in Informatics. The editorial board has selected this topic as our year-long theme. We are interested in papers reporting on informatics topics that aid the surgeon in providing better care to the surgical patient. Accepted manuscripts will be given priority publication. Please indicate in your cover letter that your manuscript is to be considered for this theme.
