  • Realignment for EN and MM Rates

The Navy announced the realignment of approximately 2,000 Sailors from the Engineman (EN) rating to the Machinist's Mate (MM) rating to enhance surface ship readiness and improve diesel engine proficiency and effectiveness. Community Managers will oversee shifting personnel between EN and MM ratings to support overall community health and needs of the Navy. NAVADMIN 382/12 has details, actions, and timelines.
  • Commands Need to Stress Responsible Use of Alcohol During Holidays

An unfortunate consequence of the holiday season is a sharp increase in alcohol-related accidents and deaths. A DUI is among the negative performance indicators considered by selection and promotion boards. It could also result in mandatory participation in a rehabilitation program, adverse performance evaluations and fitness reports, relief for cause, and reduced career opportunities.
  • Navy Announces Sea Shore Flow Update

Sailors from ten enlisted communities will see their Sea Shore Flow (SSF) Enlisted Career Paths adjusted in the Navy's latest Sea Shore Flow Update. Sailors affected are in ratings of ETSRF, MA, MMSSW, MMSW, NT, NC, ND, PS, SH, YN.
  • Enlisted Sailor Learning and Development Roadmaps Update

The CMC/CSC/COB Learning and Development Roadmap (LADR) is now available and provides a professional path for current leaders and a tool for interested Sailors to chart their course toward obtaining these rewarding leadership positions. LADRS guide Sailors and leadners by identifying current and projected enlisted training and education opportunities.
  • Navy Announces FY-13 Senior Enlisted Continuation Board

The fiscal year 2013 (FY-13) performance-based Senior Enlisted Continuation board will convene Feb. 25, 2013 according to NAVADMIN 375/12. Documented misconduct and substandard performance will be the primary reason board-eligible Sailors are not continued. The board will look at the same performance indicators as in previous years and these will be detailed in the board precept.
  • Navy Working Uniform Type I Update

Sailors should remember that NWU TYPE I uniforms are not flame resistant, and there is not a requirement for them to be. Fire retardant/flame resistant organizational clothing is provided for Sailors who need it.
