Application for Federal Judge
Senator Mark Kirk (R-Ill.) has reconvened a commettee to fill one of the four judicial vacancies on the District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Applications will be reviewed by a nonpartisan, 14 person Judicial Review Commission comprised of legal experts from around the state. The Commission will recommend candidates to Senator Kirk, who will conduct interviews and submit names to President Obama for his consideration.
Once the President submits a nomination to the U.S. Senate, the nominee will be reviewed and will receive a vote by the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee. Upon approval by the Judiciary Committee, the nomination will be considered by the full Senate.
