Shuster Congratulates Veterans Memorial Ambulance Service for their $28,500 Grant
Wednesday October 12, 2011
Washington, DC –Congressman Bill Shuster is pleased to announce that Veterans Memorial Ambulance Service of Northern Cambria has been awarded a $28,500 grant through the Department of Homeland Security.
The ambulance service will use the grant to purchase a state-of-the-art LIFEPAK 15 portable monitor/defibrillator. Only a few other EMS services in the county have this critical piece of equipment.
“I am pleased to learn that Veterans Memorial Ambulance Service has been awarded this critical grant,” Shuster said. “It is important that our volunteer emergency services have the most up-to-date equipment possible to make their life saving work more efficient.”
“We are all very excited at Veterans Memorial Ambulance Service. We strive every day to provide the highest level of care to our patients and the communities we serve” says Kelly Blake, Prehospital Nurse. “This piece of equipment will allow a higher level of cardiac care with field diagnosis by providing access for critical information to be sent to the hospitals from the ambulance at any time”.
