Washington D.C. - Congressman Jeff Fortenberry today was sworn in to the 113th Congress as Nebraska's First Congressional District Congressman in the U.S. House of Representatives. Fortenberry took the oath of office with his colleagues on the House Floor this afternoon.

"I am honored to be a member of Nebraska's delegation in the United States Congress," Fortenberry said. "Our nation faces tremendous challenges in the next two years, and I remain committed to serving the families and communities of Nebraska with hard work, careful deliberation, and civility, for the good of our country."

The 113th Congress marks Fortenberry's fifth term in the U.S. House of Representatives. He first began his service in Congress in January 2005. He was recently selected by his colleagues to serve on the Appropriations Committee.
