  1. Today the U.S. Marine Corps celebrates its 237th birthday. After more than two centuries of service, the Corps continues to represent the very best our nation has to offer. We have freedom today because brave men and women like you to defen...

    • Half the engines, half the weight and about 1/3 the operational cost of a C-130J, and can land in softer fields shorter than 3,000'. Awesome aircraft. Looking forward to seeing the CBO report on C-27J/C-130H/C-130J operations as required by the 2012 NDAA.

    • A senior USAF general recently talking about the current T-38 fleet stated that “group of airframes whose average usage is 43.5 is way beyond anywhere where we need to be to keep reasonable risk factors down in this supersonic age.” The T-50 family of aircraft already supports MILSTD-1553 and MILSTD-1760 data-buses. Perhaps an upgrade to MILSTD-1773 would be in order further improving the capabilities and hardening of the system. This little challenger truly is the new trainer we need. • Operating CV-22 Ospreys to do the TS/MC cargo makes sense for the US Navy, augmenting the VR Squadrons. However, the most efficient movement of TS/MC cargo ashore is soley in the C-27Js capability. Operational costs for movement of TS/MC cargo/PAX connot be moved more efficiently ashore by any other combat platform in the US Military inventory.

    • The Prius Destroyer is a good idea. It actually pays for itself with time. With the new defense center of gravity in the Pacific, we need to stretch every drop of fuel we can. This does it and the USS Makin Island (LHD-8) proved it during her deployment with its unique Hybrid Propulsion Drive design, as does the new USS America (LHA-6) Class.
