Congressman Long is a fourth generation Missourian from Springfield, Missouri who serves the people of the seventh district in Washington, D.C. Before becoming a congressman, Long was a successful auctioneer and realtor in southwest Missouri for more than 30 years. He is an active member of the National Association of Realtors, National Auctioneers Association, Southeast Rotary Club, Springfield Chamber of Commerce, The National Rifle Association, and the Greater Springfield Board of Realtors.
Congressman Long came to congress as a small businessman and family man from the heartland rather than a career politician. Congressman Long has vowed to fight government run heathcare, end wasteful earmarks, support socially conservative issues, and protect individual rights.
Congressman Long lives in Springfield, Missouri with his wife Barbara and his two daughters.
