When you have a job that puts you in potential danger -- as Coop does -- you have to find some way of placating one of the most important women in your life: your mother. "Yeah, I lie to my mom all the time about this," Cooper said of reporting from troubled areas. "I'll call her and be like 'Everything's fine. You know on TV it always looks worse than it really is.' I always just say, 'I'm staying at the hotel today,' [when] I'm not even in a hotel, but you know."

Not only does Coop have the looks, the job and the wit, he doesn't take foolish criticism lying down. Anderson was having none of Star Jones when she claimed that he came out to increase ratings for his daytime talk show. So for her to suddenly emerge out of the shadows and suddenly attack me for this, I couldn't believe it," Cooper said.
