One-armed surfer travels with no sweat
“It’s a pretty exciting lifestyle. I get to travel all around the world," she says. “I’ve seen a lot of cool places along the way and it’s been awesome.”
When Angie Johnson joined the Air Force Band, she never expected it could catapult her to stardom.
In fact, Johnson had pretty much given up on her dreams of a singing career until an audience member at one of her military performances posted a video of her singing on YouTube. Nearly three million people have watched it to date, including Carson Daly, the host of NBC’s “The Voice."
Johnson came home from an overseas tour to audition for the show, where Cee Lo Green chose her for his team. She was eliminated in the battle rounds, but has since performed at the Grand Ole Opry, the White House and CMA Fest.
