Public Health Department
Schuyler County Public Health Department is a partial-service health department without a full-service environmental unit. The regulatory inspections of pools, restaurants, and public sewer and water systems are provided to Schuyler County through the New York State Department of Health Hornell District Office. Schuyler County does have a Watershed Protection Agency operating within the Public Health Department. 

Programs
Schuyler County Public Health provides the community with primary prevention programs, communicable diseases management, chronic disease prevention program, rabies control program, and facilitates the Schuyler County Commission on Underage Drinking and Drugs (SCCUDD) as its injury prevention initiative.

The department also administers early intervention and preschool special education which are both mandated entitlement programs offering services to developmentally delayed children from birth to five years of age.
