Not-So-Trivial Pursuit

Not So Trivial Pursuit

“The weirder you’re going to behave, the more normal you should look.” — P.J. O’Rourke

“These days, there are few few things to admire about the socialist, bankrupt and culturally degenerating USA …” — Pravda (Americans, Never Give Up Your Guns)

Collectively, the modern American electorate may not be the dumbest group ever assembled, but they’ll do until the real idiots show up.  After all, what other drove of dimwits would hand a flame thrower to a pyromaniac then wonder why the house is suddenly ablaze?  What other swarm of simpletons would engage a lifelong highwayman to safeguard the treasury, then re-hire him once he’s cleaned out the vault? What other mob of morons would employ an inexperienced water colorist to paint the country’s future then wonder why the pigments smeared? Well, the Germans, maybe. Still, the results of our November election remain perplexing, baffling, inexplicable. If ballots were children, four years of non-stop abuse should have convinced any responsible court to place Obama’s in foster care.  Instead, the perpetrator has been rewarded with another term in which to continue his destruction of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.  The man in the Oval Office may look normal — he’s anything but. Remember, without the uniform and jaunty death’s-head chapeau, Adolf Eichmann could have been mistaken for a dyspeptic bank teller; without the Killing Fields, Pol Pot could have passed as an itinerant noodle slinger in a second-rate Chinese take-out eatery; without the many bodies dumped in a lonely wood, Ted Bundy merely an outstanding exemplar of Young Republicanism.  And, without the support of the ignorant, the apathetic, and the hopelessly dependent, Barack Hussein Obama would be busy rounding up stray dogs in Cook County instead of destroying what remains of the American republic.

Obama Seizing Sole Authority for US Defense

Trivial PresidentIn an attempt to seize total control over national security and bypass congress, a frightening new step by the Obama Administration is coming into play. As noted in Friday’s Wall Street Journal in an op-ed by John Bolton and John Woo, a State Department advisory group that is run by former Secretary of Defense William Perry is advising that the U.S. and Russia both reduce nuclear weapons without a treaty, as a treaty would require ratification by Congress. This would allow Obama and his executive branch to unilaterally cut our nuclear weaponry and ignore the treaty clause of the Constitution. [Obama's] step-by-step evisceration of the United States is not confined to its economic system but its national defense as well.

Obama Seizing Control of the US Military – Potential Cataclysm Ahead (Trevor Loudon’s New Zeal Blog)

Barack Obama has worked with pro-Moscow Marxists including Frank Marshall Davis and Alice Palmer, and pro-Cuban radicals like Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn, his entire life.

Their number one priority has always been the destruction of the US military, the only significant block remaining, to global revolution.

Now that the Davis/Palmer/Ayers/Dohrn protege has the reins of power, President Obama is working hard to destroy US military superiority, consciously or unconsciously, to the advantage of the Russia/China/Cuba/North Korea/Iranian/Islamic alliance

[...] If Obama is allowed to realize the Davis/Palmer/Ayers/Dohrn vision of a militarily impotent America, Americans will be faced with two very harsh choices.

Lay down your arms and give up your sovereignty to a United Nations world superstate. Or face the combined military might of Russia, China, Iran, North Korea, Cuba, Venezuela, Nicaragua, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, possibly Pakistan, Indonesia and Brazil, and several other countries… with hardly a friend in the world to come to your aidThis won’t be a one or two front conflict. This will be a multi-polar, all out attack on the US homeland.

Americans need to wake up. And fast.

Is President Obama Really A Socialist? Let’s Analyze Obamanomics (Forbes)

[...] why does President Obama keep saying that the rich do not pay their fair share? Is he ignorant? Wouldn’t somebody in his Administration whisper to him that he is peddling nonsense?

The answer is that to President Obama this is still not fair because he is a Marxist. To a Marxist, the fact that the top 1% earn more income than the bottom 99% is not fair, no matter how they earn it, fairly or not. So it is not fair unless more is taken from the top 1% until they are left only with what they “need,” as in any true communist system. Paying anything less is not their “fair” share. That is the only logical explanation of President Obama’s rhetoric, and it is 100% consistent with his own published background.

McCoy Fist BumpAnother Low Bow To Radical Islam (Pruden & Politics)

The U.S. Army is soon to issue a handbook instructing soldiers to copy Mr. Obama’s example of when and how to defer to an alien ideology that stands against everything Americans are taught, whether by faith, ethics, morals or another code of good conduct.

The new manual, which runs to 75 pages, orders American military personnel to refrain from saying anything to offend the Taliban in Afghanistan, to be careful not to criticize the practice of sexual relations with children, the abuse of women, beheadings, massacres of girls and the killing of “unbelievers” and Muslims who Taliban enforcers regard as insufficiently devout in the faith. Holding to what they have been taught, whether at Sunday school or a mother’s knee, is presumably OK for American soldiers, at least for now. But they must keep such ideas to themselves.

The manual, issued in the name of the U.S. Government, obviously at the command of the commander in chief, suggests that Western ignorance and arrogance and not the Taliban are responsible for the surge in deadly attacks by Afghan soldiers against the soldiers of the allied coalition.

Serf City, Here We Come

Serf City“I want next year to be a year of strong economic growth. Call me a hopeless optimist … ” — Barack Obama, 12/21/12

So saying, Butch Incapassidy packed the old battleaxe and the chillun in the woodie and took off for the warmer clime of the former Sandwich Islands  (“…the fact of the matter is, I think if you look at my track record, I’m raising a family here.”)  The rest of the Hole-In-The-Head gang, also known as the U.S. Congress, likewise prepared to scatter to their respective hideouts, while the rest of us are stuck on their out-of-control toboggan as it slaloms toward the largest tax hikes in American history.

[John Kerry] is well qualified to be the Secretary of Defense . . . of Cuba or Venezuela” — John O’Neill

VN Vets Against Hanoi JohnI don’t know exactly when we went through the Looking Glass into the land of Down Is Up and Wrong Is Right, but the nomination of this saturnine leftist to head the State Department confirms that we’ve arrived at our destination. Considering that Che Guevara continues to be unavailable, Kerry, the ‘Nam vet whose tour was shorter than Gilligan and the Skipper’s, is just the man to assist Barack Obama as he dismantles America. As Allan Erickson writes:

The dear leader is consistent: he routinely recruits and appoints radicals, losers, failures, tax cheats and traitors … What’s next: Jane Fonda to head Health and Human Services, Bill Ayers for Secretary of Education, or Jon Corzine, Treasury Secretary? The downside of appointing unqualified, incompetent anti-American radicals should be glaringly obvious in the wake of Benghazi, the Arab Winter, defense cuts, unilateral disarmament, serial capitulation, and economic devastation.

But it’s only a “downside” if you assume that the listed outcomes were, in fact, undesired …

For reference, and an eye-opener, not that many Americans appear to care any longer, here is a list of the anti-American radicals brought to the fore by President Poser, people paid with your money to destroy the republic, making way for the socialist transition to communism. (Nancy Matthis is meticulous. Some on this list have gone, but you get the idea.)

Perhaps we should think about it this December as we sit in front of dead trees eating candy out of our socks.  Merry Christmas.

Losing Control Over Gun Control

Cagle

[...] Hysteria and frenzy are clearly the way the politicians and media elites think we should deal with tragedy. These media worthies might better spend their tears and lamentations over the reckless coverage of the tragedy, when speculation, supposition and make-believe were presented as fact. Errors included the wrong number of the dead, the false identification of the shooter, the wrong guns identified, and the way the shooter was dressed. Tragedy was compounded by media ghouls who descended on surviving children and parents, stuffing microphones the size of beer cans in their faces to ask, “how did it feel? (When tragedy strikes, the hysterics rule | Pruden & Politics)

***

Contemptible behavior as a reflexive response to calamity is not a characteristic endemic only to the reeking buzzards of the Fifth Estate and Democratic politicians, though those particular unworthies seem to have cornered most of the modern market on it.  But in the aftermath of the latest murderous rampage committed by a homicidal whacko using a firearm as his weapon of choice (and not the other way around), many members of academia and the arts have succumbed to blind panic, villifying gun owners who are guilty of nothing, and making it clear that the liberal way of protecting the innocent is, as always, by removing more of their Constitutional rights.  A sampling:

Ben Stiller: “Shocked and saddened by what happened today in Connecticut. We have to stop the access to guns in our country.”

Chrissy Teigen: “it’s too easy for a monster to get a gun. solution: NO ONE GETS GUNS. sorry if this is an inconvenience for your complete need to have one.”

Sarah Silverman: “Band-Aids-on-Band-Aids @NRA people want MORE access to guns to combat all the people w access to guns.”

Piers Morgan: “This is now President Obama’s biggest test – will he have the courage to stand up to the American gun lobby?”

Michael Moore: ”The way to honor these dead children is to demand strict gun control, free mental health care, and an end to violence as public policy.

Rashida Jones: “Gun control is our only road to freedom. Freedom from the fear of senselessly losing children. … Thanks, gun lovers, for all your hateful tweets…

Flea: “No civilians should be allowed to have guns. none…and i dont think the cops should have guns either…change the constitution…and make quality mental health care free…god bless the children…in many countries the cops have no guns and they do perfectly fine…peace and love to all…heartbreaking…the depth of sadness.

Erik Loomis, PhD, assistant professor of history, University of Rhode Island: [I] want Wayne LaPierre’s head on a stick …looks like the National Rifle Association has murdered some more children … Can [we] define NRA membership as dues contributing to a terrorist organization?

But opinions, as the old vulgarism goes, are like anuses — everybody’s got one, and most of ‘em stink.  You can’t remove the darkness in the human heart by singing “Kumbaya” or by legislating a return to the days of the longbow and battle axe. While a rational national debate on stopping mass mayhem — one that includes America’s law abiding firearm owners and 2nd Amendment supporters — may or may not be appropriate, one thing is certain: the only surefire way to stop an armed individual is with another armed individual.

Suicide Kings

Tears

[...] the entity that is most bent on destroying the private economy of the United States of America, until recently the envy of the world, is our own government.”An Administration That Will Live In Infamy

***

It’s the new liberal mantra and, like an echo bouncing off muculent rock in a cavern filled with freshly harvested skulls, it’s repeated endlessly by the pink-to-the-bone chattering class: “Republicans can no longer win elections unless they become more like Democrats.” Patently untrue, of course, but a falsehood that nonetheless gives solace to those in the GOP whose principles have always been as wobbly as the stride of a palsied octogenarian and comforts Democrats who never had any in the first place.  This is no formula for victory; only a blueprint for continued defeat.  Why vote for cheap knock-offs when you can have the real thing for the same price?

And Barack Obama is the real deal — or, at least, the real steal — a man who has looted the public treasury of more funds in three years than his predecessors managed in 236:

Obama has never shown interest in genuine debt reduction. He does nothing for two years, then spends the next two ignoring his own debt-reduction commission. In less than four years, he has increased U.S. public debt by a staggering 83 percent. As a percentage of GDP, the real marker of national solvency, it has spiked from 45 percent to 70 percent. (It’s Nothing But a Power Play – Charles Krauthammer)

He had help, of course. No one could pull off a heist that big without accomplices. The Pelosi-Reid Democratic Congress, for example — as accomplished a gang of brigands since the heyday of La Cosa Nostra.  Then there’s the receivers of the stolen goods, i.e. the non-taxpaying half of the country that accepts their share of the plunder and demands ever more; a complaisant media that, instead of blanketing the country with “Wanted” posters, celebrates political outlawry and calls it social justice; and a unionized system of public education “built on leftist agendas, enforced mediocrity, and teachers motivated by greed varnished with sentimental slogans about ‘the children’” (Daren Jonescu).  A celebrity-obsessed culture that has accustomed itself to enabling promiscuity, deviancy, and tattooed misogyny has again appointed the one-eyed Jackass as its suicide king.

But you don’t keep a suicide king or the Devil way down in the hole by folding your hand and jumping in after him.  That, however, is exactly the strategy that the so-called Republican leadership advocates:

Over the next couple of years, Barack Obama wants to raise the national debt to $18.9 trillion or so.  John Boehner, Mitch McConnell, and the congressional Republicans want to raise the national debt to $18.4 trillion or so.

[...] The present Republican leaders in Washington, instead of hiding under a rock, have taken to standing on the rock and demanding conservatives self flagellate. Neither John Boehner nor Mitch McConnell are visionaries. They are survivors. They survive by recognizing the biggest threat to them and trying to befriend it or neutralize it.

Right now, both see conservatives as their biggest threat, not Barack Obama. Why? Because while Barack Obama maintains the White House, John Boehner and Mitch McConnell maintain their positions of power. They exist for power, not for vision.  (The Republicans Have Failed The Nation)

Republicans don’t lose because they don’t act like Democrats; they lose because they don’t act like Republicans.

A League Of His Own

Fish-Hook-590-cdn

According to a new report by Barack Obama’s Intelligence Council (as much an oxymoron as a “jumbo” shrimp), the U.S. will lose its status as sole world superpower by 2030.  This analysis, of course, fails to take into account the suicidal presidential election of 2012, the results of which should speed the nation into peak decline by about 2015.  Apparently this is the outcome that the deluded supporters of our re-installed socialist potentate desire — at least until they discover that while parity may be a good thing for the National Football League, when you meet with defeat in the real world you don’t get draft picks to boost you back into contention.

[...] The Chinese understand that [Obama's] administration is eviscerating American military power — a process that will become even more draconian (andperhaps substantially irreversible) as a result of Mr. Obama’s determination to impose a so-called sequestration round of a half-trillion dollars in additional cuts on a Pentagon already reeling from nearly $800 billion in previously approved reductions.

Then there is Mr. Obama’s rash effort to rid the world of nuclear weapons, starting with ours. A State Department advisory committee made up of rabid disarmers has just issued a recommendation that the United States make still further, deep reductions in its nuclear stockpile through negotiated agreements with Russia, if possible, and unilaterally if President Vladimir Putin will not go along.

This panel — like the Obama administration, which is expected to embrace its recommendations — seems indifferent to the growing evidence that China may have substantially more deployed nuclear weapons than we do. Unlike ours, theirs are on modern launch vehicles, many of which seem to be hidden in 3,000 miles of hardened tunnels. Meanwhile, Team Obama is ensuring that there will be no modernization of the U.S. arsenal and that its weapons — and the industrial complex vital to their future deterrent value and readiness — will continue to atrophy.

Mr. Obama is redistributing power, all right, and thereby is giving the globe a strategic makeover. Think of it as his “fundamentally transforming the United States of America” by diminishing its power and upgrading that of its enemies. (GAFFNEY: Obama’s global makeover – Washington Times)
