But since both companies have operations in Jacksonville G&W officials say some RailAmerica jobs will have to be cut upon completion of the sale. RailAmerica operations on Fullerton Street will also be closed.

The government said Superstorm Sandy had only a minimal effect on the figures. The Labor Department report offered a mixed picture for the economy....

The county’s median individual income was $69,724, according to the Census’ American Community Survey five-year estimates. That’s almost $5,000 a year more than runner-up Martin County and more than $15,000 more than Nassau County, which had the second-highest median on the First Coast....

Starbucks said Wednesday that it plans to boost the number of locations in its biggest market by about 13 percent by 2017. In the broader Americas region, the company plans to add a total of 3,000 new cafes by that time....

In a news release issued Wednesday, Citigroup announced a “repositioning” of the company will reduce its global workforce of about 260,000 people by 11,000. But Citigroup Managing Director of Corporate Communications Shannon Bell said Florida operations will remain relatively unscathed in the cuts....

The bank says it’s looking to cut expenses and improve efficiency. The company said Wednesday that the cuts will result in about $1 billion in charges in the fourth quarter and about $100 million in charges during the first half of next year. It expects about $900 million in expense savings in 2013 and annual expense savings of more than $1.1 billion starting in 2014....
