October 8, 2012 ServPro, of Orange, Sullivan and South Ulster counties, a company that assists people with clean-up and restoration after floods, fires and local emergencies, held a golf outing on Sept. 24 to benefit the American Red Cross Greater New York Region. The Metro New York North chapter’s jurisdiction was impacted by both Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee, both of which wreaked havoc in the area. September 17, 2012 When a four-alarm fire ravaged three buildings in Yonkers on September 16, a beautiful Sunday afternoon, displacing 26 people, a group of dedicated Red Cross volunteers quickly mobilized. September 14, 2012 Eight Red Cross workers responded to the scene of a three-alarm fire at 40 East Birch Street in Mount Vernon, N.Y. on Sept. 13 that tragically took the life of one man. Six apartments in the six-story building were damaged in the fire which left 11 people homeless.Working with city of Mt Vernon the Red Cross opened a reception center at a local church that opened their doors to help.
