Millinocket Airport to Receive $540,000

Sep 18, 2012 Issues: Transportation and Infrastructure

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Mike Michaud praised the announcement by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) that the Town of Millinocket will receive a $540,000 Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) grant for the final construction phase of the Millinocket Municipal Airport’s apron rehabilitation project.

“Approval of this investment will allow this important project to be completed,” said Michaud, a member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. “These upgrades will help attract additional business and keep users of the airport and those that work there safe. Investments in our infrastructure not only pay off in the long term, but they create jobs, make our businesses more competitive, and help move our economy forward.”

According to DOT, this project will rehabilitate existing apron pavement that has reached the end of its useful life.
