The Bar Services Department oversees the work of Membership and MCLE departments and the administration of the Harry L. Carrico Professionalism Course, pursuant to the Rules of the Supreme Court of Virginia (Part 6, Section IV, Paragraph 13.1).

Membership Department
The department administers the Rules of the Supreme Court of Virginia for Organization and Government of the Virginia State Bar (Part 6, Section IV) pertaining to membership, registration and annual compliance requirements for all attorneys licensed by the Virginia Board of Bar Examiners or admitted by the Supreme Court of Virginia.

Mandatory Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) Department
The department administers the Rules of the Supreme Court of Virginia pertaining to the annual continuing legal education requirement for all active attorneys in Virginia (Part Six, Section IV, Paragraphs 17 and 13.2).
