 Recreation

Recreation & Public Information -- Family by stream.

Public access to 2.2 million acres of forested state trust lands gives you opportunities for a variety of recreation experiences in primitive settings across the state.

These lands provide 1,100 miles of trails, 143 recreation sites, and a variety of unique landscapes for day trips or overnight visits.

You can access Recreational Opportunities On State Trust Lands, such as trails, trailhead facilities, campgrounds, day-use facilities, picnic areas, and boat launches.

In conservation areas, you have opportunities to learn about our natural heritage and to enjoy low-impact recreation.

Much of our 13,000-mile forest road system is open and leads you to countless opportunities such as hunting, fishing, bird-watching, and hiking.
