Description:
The United States began using airplanes in military operations during World War I. Military helicopters have been in use dating back to World War II because of their ability to take off and land vertically, in a small area. In the 1980s, the US military began developing an airframe that would combine the speed of and airplane and the movements of a helicopter. Marine Corporal Nate Carberry tells us some of the benefits of that aircraft.
