Congressman Leonard Lance joins other lawmakers following a meeting at the U.S. Capitol with House Leadership

WASHINGTON – Congressman Leonard Lance (NJ-07) today released a statement following a joint New York/New Jersey Republican congressional delegation meeting with House leadership concerning consideration of Hurricane Sandy relief legislation.

“I joined Republicans from the New Jersey andNew York congressional delegations in a meeting this afternoon with House Speaker John Boehner and Majority Leader Eric Cantor regarding the status of legislation to provide Hurricane Sandy relief aid.

"During our meeting we received a firm commitment from our leadership that the full House will consider a measure Friday to replenish funds to the National Flood Insurance Program.  The House will also consider an emergency supplemental spending bill on January 15 — the first full legislative day of the new 113th Congress.  We are pleased that Speaker Boehner and Leader Cantor listened to our concerns and acted accordingly."
