Celebrating 100 Years: New York State Education Building
Throughout the month of October and continuing through December of 2012, the New York State Education Department will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the opening of the Department’s headquarters: The State Education Building.
The First Step to Freedom: Abraham Lincoln's Preliminary Emancipation Proclamation
The New York State Museum will unveil a traveling exhibition to mark the sesquicentennial of Abraham Lincoln’s Preliminary Emancipation Proclamation at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture in New York City on September 21.
The Museum is open to the public from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm, Tuesday through Sunday, except Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day.
