When the Going Gets Tough, the Lazy Phone it In. Obama Administration Issues Identical Statement on Jobs Reports 5 Months in a Row

Seriously? You guys can’t even write something original about the monthly jobs numbers? Even we bloggers manage to scribble something different when commenting on different stories. But wait, this isn’t a different story, is it? It’s the same story of economic stagnation, month after month after miserable month in Obama’s economy where this is–to use another annoying threadbare LSM clichè–the “new normal.” From today’s Washington Post, the Regime’s comment on the anemic jobs report issued today:

“While more work remains to be done, today’s employment report provides further evidence that the U.S. economy is continuing to heal from the wounds inflicted by the worst downturn since the Great Depression,” said Alan Krueger, the chief White House economist, in a statement Friday morning.

Gee, that sounds familiar …Oh wait, I know why. From the White House, after the release of November, 2012 job numbers.

While more work remains to be done, today’s employment report provides further evidence that the U.S. economy is continuing to heal from the wounds inflicted by the worst downturn since the Great Depression.

And then October, 2012 job numbers:

While more work remains to be done, today’s employment report provides further evidence that the U.S. economy is continuing to heal from the wounds inflicted by the worst downturn since the Great Depression.

And check out the report after release of July 2012 job numbers and August 2012  job numbersGee, I wonder what the release about September, 2012 job numbers said?

You have to understand. The White House statement issuers were using all their mental energy and creativity dreaming up stories to tell us about what happened in Benghazi. They can’t be expected to actually explain anything as trivial as the continuing pathetically high rates of unemployment and under-employment.

Do you think of their Lame Stream Media stenographers will notice or point it out to their perennially-in-the-dark audiences?

Surf’s up!

We Knew the Real Obama All Along, Didn’t We

As Charles Krauthammer points out in his column entitled “The Return of the Real Obama,”  he writes:

The rout was complete, the retreat disorderly. President Obama got his tax hikes — naked of spending cuts — passed by the ostensibly Republican House of Representatives. After which, you might expect him to pivot to his self-proclaimed “principle” of fiscal “balance” by taking the lead on reducing spending. “Why,” asked The Post on the eve of the final fiscal-cliff agreement, “is the nation’s leader not embracing and then explaining the balanced reforms the nation needs?”

Because he has no interest in them. He’s a visionary, not an accountant. Sure, he’ll pretend to care about deficits, especially while running for reelection. But now that he’s past the post, he’s free to be himself — a committed big-government social democrat.

Upon losing the House in 2010, the leveler took cover for the next two years. He wasn’t going to advance his real agenda through the Republican House anyway, and he needed to win reelection.

He concludes:

Now he’s won. The old Obama is back. He must not be underestimated. He has deftly leveraged his class-war-themed election victory (a) to secure a source of funding (albeit still small) for the bloated welfare state, (b) to carry out an admirably candid bit of income redistribution and (c) to fracture the one remaining institutional obstacle to the rest of his ideological agenda.

Not bad for two months’ work.

If you can call reading demagogic talking points before jetting off the Hawaii “work,” that is. Other than that questionable assertion, like most Krauthammer pieces this whole column is spot on and well worth your reading.

Reparations Have to Start Somewhere File: Taxpayers’ Price for Obamas’ Jet-setting Lifestyle

This morning, during a well-deserved water break from a grueling set of bench presses, one of the other Gym Goddesses asked me how much taxpayers have spent on vacations for the One, the First Klingon and their spawn. I said this latest one cost $7 million, which is what is pretty much the consensus, but the overall figure is much, much more, probably closer to over $20 million. From The White House Dossier:

The $20 million figure is based on estimates of the cost of the four Hawaii vacations the Obamas have taken during Christmastime 2009-2012. According to a detailed breakdown by the Hawaii Reporter, the annual excursions in 2009, 2010, and 2011 cost about $4 million, much of it attributable to the expense of taking Air Force One, at an hour rate of about $180,000, on an eighteen-hour roundtrip journey to Honolulu and back.

New Year's Day, 2012

New Year’s Day, 2012

But $4 million almost certainly underestimates the true tally, as it does not include many miscellaneous items like the cost of flying advance teams out to Hawaii and separate flights Michelle Obama took in 2010 and 2011, when she left ahead of her husband, who was forced to stay in Washington to finish up work with Congress.

This year, Obama returned from Hawaii to complete a deal on the Fiscal Cliff and then jetted back to Honolulu, where he is now engaged in Part 2 of his vacation. The second roundtrip flight added about $3.24 million to the tab this time, bringing the cost of the 2012-1013 vacation to well over $7 million.

If we assume the estimates are probably quite low, then it’s likely to the bill for the combined vacations is more than $20 million.

As the publisher of The White House Dossier, Keith Koffler, notes times are tough all over this country, and most American families have cut way back on, if not completely eliminated, vacations. But that sort of thing is for the little people, the ones who pay for all this luxury, not for Barack and Michelle.

It’s good to be the king.

Remember, as we frequently note in this space (please check out this FLASHBACK, which I know you will enjoy!), Barack and Michelle figure that reparations for all the evil perpetrated by racist Amerika for centuries, which they learned about from Rev. Jeremiah Wright, have to start somewhere, so why not with them?

Do we have only ourselves to blame?

We face a possible second downgrade of America’s debt because of the last 10 years of spending, which was excessive under President Bush, and which has accelerated at a breathtaking pace under the able stewardship of B. Hussein Obama. We look at the weasels in D.C., and express disgust over the way they enthusiastically spend other people’s money, but is that fair? Aren’t they just doing what the voters tell them to do? Consider this excerpt from David Brooks’ column, published yesterday:

Ultimately, we should blame the American voters. The average Medicare couple pays $109,000 into the program and gets $343,000 in benefits out, according to the Urban Institute. This is $234,000 in free money. Many voters have decided they like spending a lot on themselves and pushing costs onto their children and grandchildren. They have decided they like borrowing up to $1 trillion a year for tax credits, disability payments, defense contracts and the rest. They have found that the original Keynesian rationale for these deficits provides a perfect cover for permanent deficit-living. They have made it clear that they will destroy any politician who tries to stop them from cost-shifting in this way.

I am very curious about what you think about this assertion. The Urban Institute tends to be left-wing think tank, so if anything their computations probably give recipients the benefit of the doubt. Regardless of the precise numbers, it’s very clear that current beneficiaries of these programs are getting a lot more out than they put in. If you are currently receiving these benefits, are you happy about spending future generations into oblivion so that you don’t have to give up any government payments? What say you? Please comment below.

Vicious Right Wing Haters Dare to Question Brilliant Sec. Hillary Clinton’s Story

Can you believe all those haters on right-wing media outlets, viciously suggesting that Sec. of State Hillary Clinton’s month-long series of health problems might have something to do with a desire to avoid answering questions about the murder of 4 Americans in Benghazi on September 11, 2012? They say that she will do anything to avoid testifying. Have they no conscience, no shame? Of course, once again those so incensed over accusations of accusations of “Benghazi flu,” of “diplomatic illness,” are guilty of selective outrage. I don’t recall wails of unfairness when they accused Mitt Romney of giving a woman cancer, but I know. That was different.

It’s also different from, and if you are to believe the vacuous Joan Walsh, a fixture over that at the 24/7 televised nuthouse MS-NBC, much worse than, gleefully hoping for the painful death of former president George H.W. Bush. Surely, I jest, I can hear you saying. Ah, no. Here’s the video:

Oh and here’s some of those tweets the other reporter mentioned (H/T Twitchy.)

Screen Shot 2013-01-03 at 3.13.00 PM Screen Shot 2013-01-03 at 3.13.24 PMIt’s unbelievable that anyone would question the veracity of Hilary Clinton. How can that be? The woman who claimed to be named after Sir Edmund Hilary, even though she was born in 1947 and Sir Edmund didn’t become famous until 1953? The woman who claimed that she had bravely dodged gunfire in Bosnia? It’s shocking to me that anyone could say anything so unfair, and even, cruel about her!

Just when you think you’ve seen how low the right wing will go, they go lower.

Truth is History

Mr. Chakra
Crazed Sex Poodle

It is said that the victor gets to write history. But what if their history is all lies?

Last night I got wind of the sale of Current TV to al Jezeera. That alone should create a bit of consternation but it just keeps getting better and better- or worse and worse, depending on your point of view.

Al Jazeera on Wednesday announced a deal to take over Current TV, the low-rated cable channel that was founded by Al Gore, a former vice president, and his business partners seven years ago.

Al Jazeera did not disclose the purchase price, but people with direct knowledge of the deal pegged it at around $500 million, indicating a $100 million payout for Mr. Gore, who owned 20 percent of Current. Mr. Gore and his partners were eager to complete the deal by Dec. 31, lest it be subject to higher tax rates that took effect on Jan. 1, according to several people who insisted on anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly.

Al Gore, wants to avoid taxation like one of Mitt Romney’s 1%. Who can blame him for that? I mean it’s not like he is releasing his chakra into the atmosphere like a  crazed sex poodle, creating GlowBull Wormening.

But this morning there was this:

“Before Al-Jazeera bought Current TV, TheBlaze looked into buying it but we were rejected by progressive owners.”

“Glenn Beck’s The Blaze approached Current about buying the channel last year, but was told that ‘the legacy of who the network goes to is important to us and we are sensitive to networks not aligned with our point of view,‘ according to a person familiar with the negotiations.”

I don’t know if I would call that a tacit admission- it’s more like a public pronouncement that anyone on the right ‘need not apply’.  Does this mean al Jezeera? is aligned with AlGore’s point of view?

In the aftermath of Saddam’s Iraq, CNN’s  Eason Jordan admitted to withholding the truth:

Knowing the personal stories I knew about the brutality of the regime, I had three options: 1. Never repeat such horror stories. 2. Tell the stories sooner and, as a result, see innocent people killed. 3. Tell the stories after the downfall of the Saddam Hussein regime. I chose option three and could never imagine doing anything else.

Withholding the truth by news organizations is nothing new. The Chicago Tribune refused twice my request to confirm that the U.S. Attorney Fitzgerald statement thanking them for holding the story for weeks meant they knew of the Blagojevich wiretaps before the ’08 election.

But, now, instead of a Olbermann, or a Client Number 9 withholding the truth- their ‘minders’ will just buy the whole channel and make up the truth. It will be just like Air America, only different.

This is all reminiscent of the Dubai Ports deal that was torpedoed by Chuckie Schumer. Don’t expect him to object to this deal tho.

Algore got out at the right time, it appears, as a cable provider has moved to eliminate the ‘bundle’.

Intel is planning to deliver cable content to any device with an Internet connection. And instead of having to pay $80 a month for two hundred channels you don’t want, you’ll be able to subscribe to specific channels of your choosing.

And you thought Current TV‘s ratings couldn’t go any lower.

So we didn’t go over the fiscal cliff…

Thanks to President Obama, the evil Republicans were finally forced to allow the omniscient and all good federal government to take a little bit more money from rich people. I’m really glad. Those damn rich people were really getting on my nerves with all their money. They have way more than they need. Take Donald Trump. Does he really need that fancy helicopter? I don’t have one, why should he? Yes, I know, the tax increase is not going to force him to give it up, but perhaps our government should set their sites on making him share it. For example, let’s say I want to go to Six Flags Great America next July 4. The traffic is horrible. Why can’t I reserve Donald Trump’s helicopter to pick me up and drop me off and bring me home again? That would be more fair than just letting Trump hog it SOLELY BECAUSE HE OWNS IT. And what good would that helicopter be anyway if not for the taxpayer supported infrastructure (like the airport and the road to the airport) that Trump uses.

I don’t get these Republicans. What’s with this private property thing anyway? Nothing is really private, or I should say, nothing has any worth without the federal government to support it. Why don’t rich people get it.  Sell the yacht and sponsor a teacher (oops- I mean educator) and make sure that the most important job in the country is properly compensated. If anyone in our country should be rich, its teach- er, educators. They do everything for the children.  C’mon, you rich bastards, ante up.

Speaking of the children, President Obama and the democrats are doing a lot for the children as well. By making sure none of them have the opportunity to get rich (by saddling them with student loan debt, medicaid and social security debt, pension debt and debt in general), our President is assuring them a future wherein they will never have to bitch about taxes on the rich. There won’t be any.  (Rich that is; there’ll be plenty of taxes.)

Biggest Lies of 2012: Benghazi

Here’s what Barack Hussein Obama said on Sunday, December 30, 2012 on “Meet the Press” when asked about the murder of four Americans on September 11, 2012, in Benghazi, Libya, the first time that an American ambassador has been killed in the line of duty since 1979..

GREGORY: Let me ask you about a couple of foreign policy notes. After the attack in Benghazi, is there a need for more accountability so that this doesn’t happen again? And do you know who was behind the attack at this point? (emphasis mine in every case here)

PRESIDENT OBAMA: Two points. Number one, I think that Tom Pickering and Mike Mullen who headed up the– the review board did a very thorough job in identifying what were some severe problems in diplomatic security. And they provided us with a series of recommendations. Many of them were already starting to be implemented. Secretary Clinton has indicated that she is going to implement all of them.

What I’ve– my message to the State Department has been very simple. And that is we’re going to solve this. We’re not going to be defensive about it. We’re not going to pretend that this was not a problem. This was a huge problem. And we’re going to implement every single recommendation that’s been put forward.

Some individuals have been held accountable inside of the State Department and what I’ve said is that we are going to fix this to make sure that this does not happen again, because these are folks that I send into the field. We understand that there are dangers involved but, you know, when you read the report and it confirms what we had already seen, you know, based on some of our internal reviews; there was just some sloppiness, not intentional, in terms of how we secure embassies in areas where you essentially don’t have governments that have a lot of capacity to protect those embassies. So we’re doing a thorough-going review. Not only will we implement all the recommendations that were made, but we’ll try to do more than that. You know, with respect to who carried it out, that’s an ongoing investigation. The FBI has sent individuals to Libya repeatedly. We have some very good leads, but this is not something that, you know, I’m going to be at liberty to talk about right now.

“Sloppiness?” That’s right up there with the murder of these four Americans as “bumps in the road” in its insensitivity, and it’s also extremely misleading. On December 31, 2012, the Senate–that’s the Democrat-controlled Senate–Committee on Homeland Security And Governmental Affairs-released a scathing report on the Benghazi disaster, concluding that

[I]n the months leading up to the attack on the Temporary Mission Facility in

Benghazi, there was a large amount of evidence gathered by the U.S. Intelligence

Community (IC) and from open sources that Benghazi was increasingly dangerous and

unstable, and that a significant attack against American personnel there was becoming

much more likely. While this intelligence was effectively shared within the Intelligence

Community (IC) and with key officials at the Department of State, it did not lead to a

commensurate increase in security at Benghazi nor to a decision to close the American

mission there, either of which would have been more than justified by the intelligence

presented.

Here’s what they mean.

The RSO (Regional Security Officer) in Libya compiled a list of 234 security incidents in Libya between June

2011 and July 2012, 50 of which took place in Benghazi, including the following notable incidents:

May 22, 2012-2 RPG’s hit the Red Cross/Red Crescent building in Benghazi. “Several days later, the Brigades of the Imprisoned Sheikh Omar Abdel Rahman claimed responsibility for this attack, accusing the ICRC of proselytizing in Libya.”

June 6, 2012-this same group of wackos claimed credit for blowing a hole in the wall of the U.S. Temporary Mission Facility in Benghazi  with an IED.

June 11, 2012-RPG attack on the convoy of the British Ambassador to Libya

June 18, 2012-”the Tunisian consulate in Benghazi was stormed by individuals

affiliated with Ansar al-Sharia Libya (AAS), allegedly because of “attacks by Tunisian

artists against Islam.”

So, “sloppiness” is a very generous, and dishonest, way for the One to characterize the reckless disregard that his State Department had for the safety of Americans serving harm’s way. Can there be any doubt about the reason? The Obama administration wanted to run out the pre-election clock on this disgraceful episode, which resulted from their desperate need to preserve the official story that our Dear Reader had destroyed al Qaeda, when in fact the terrorist organization is on the march, emboldened by the One’s “lead from behind” strategy. The only thing destroyed is their narrative, as evidenced by our terrorist enemy’s greatest success against their great Satan since the original 9/11 attacks, on the very anniversary of those first horrible attacks. The truth about what really happened would make the Obama administration look very bad, but fortunately a compliant media would make sure that it didn’t get out. Consider that for several weeks we’ve known the truth; specifically, that the intelligence community knew nearly immediately that the Benghazi attack was a pre-meditated, terrorist attack, and that the risible story everyone in the Obama administration tried to sell about a “spontaneous” demonstration caused by a YouTube video that almost no one saw wasn’t true. Did David “Howdy Doody” Gregory even offer the slightest challenge to the One’s assertion about the “ongoing investigation?” Yes, that was a rhetorical question. Of course he didn’t!

On the September 16 edition of The Teri O’Brien Show, the very day that Susan Rice made a politically-motivated horse’s hind end of herself on 5 Sunday shows, we played the audio for you, and told you at the time that this act was as phony as everything else about this bunch. More about that here.

John Nolte at Breitbart has an excellent summary of the coverup of the coverup here, citing a CBS News story, in which he notes

So, if what CBS is reporting is true, this is what we know now:

1. At the time, Susan Rice knew the information she repeated five times on five Sunday shows wasn’t true.

2. The edited talking points were never meant to deceive and conceal the fact that what happened in Libya was a terror attack. And yet, that’s exactly what Rice and the White House did for nearly two weeks.

3. Contrary to what the White House and media told us, the talking points were not edited to keep the group responsible for the attack from knowing we were on to them. Therefore…

4. We were lied to for reasons that had nothing to do with national security

5. The media’s going to allow the Obama Administration to get away with this. (Why else would CBS play down its own story the way they did this one?)

So what some have taken to calling “Benghazigate” is without question one of the biggest lies of 2012. Not that many people seem to care.

Thank God, Starving Hollywood Producers Keep Their Tax Breaks

Remember, B. Hussein Obama (Praise be his name), is all about “protecting the middle class.” From ABC News:

The “fiscal cliff” compromise has been heralded as a saving grace for middle class taxpayers, their families and the unemployed.

But buried in the fine print of the 150-page deal are also some lesser-known New Year’s gifts to some of Washington’s favorite industries. …

The mix of tax perks covering the next year, but with budget implications for the next two years includes everything from incentives for employers to hire veterans to incentives for employers to invest in mine safety. But it also includes these:

  • $430 million for Hollywood through “special expensing rules” to encourage TV and film production in the United States.  Producers can expense up to $15 million of costs for their projects.
  • $331 million for railroads by allowing short-line and regional operators to claim a tax credit up to 50 percent of the cost to maintain tracks that they own or lease.

Gee, doesn’t Warren Buffet own a railroad? Just a coincidence, I’m sure.

Obama’s “Balanced Approach”: Increased Taxes, More Spending

That sounds about right, doesn’t it? From the Wall Street Journal:

So Congress has passed a bill to avoid the tax cliff, hallelujah. This is the way to look at it if you have a pre-Copernican view of politics where Washington is the center of the economic universe. The better way to see it is that the tax bill on the private, productive part of the economy is now coming due for President Obama’s first-term spending and re-election.

The Senate-White House compromise grudgingly passed by the House is a Beltway classic: The biggest tax increase in 20 years in return for spending increases, and all spun for political purposes as a “tax cut for the middle class.” But taxes on the middle class were only going up on January 1 because the politicians had set it up that way, manufacturing a fake crisis. The politicians now portray themselves as scrambling heroically to save the day by sparing the middle class while raising taxes on small business, investors and the affluent.

That completely captures it.

The jug-eared, braying jackass, having taunted his opponents, ridiculing them Alinsky-style on New Year’s Eve, has returned to Hawaii to recover from that grueling effort. “Shared sacrifice?”
