Navy Secretary to Visit Katahdin Region Sunday

BANGOR, ME – Today, Congressman Mike Michaud, Ranking Member of the Veterans’ Affairs Subcommittee on Health, announced that Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus will travel to East Millinocket and Millinocket on September 2nd to commemorate Navy Cross recipient Stephen W. Groves and to celebrate the naming of the future United States Naval Ship (USNS) Millinocket.

USDA Disaster Assistance Available to Maine Farmers

Maine Health Care Consumer Assistance Program to Receive $200,000

LEWISTON, ME – Today, Congressman Mike Michaud praised the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announcement that Maine has been awarded $200,000 to expand efforts to educate consumers about their health coverage options and protect consumer rights. This is Maine’s third Consumer Assistance Program (CAP) grant, which is administered by Consumers for Affordable Health Care (CAHC).

Michaud Pushes VA on Calais Clinic; Requests National Review

BANGOR, ME – Today, Congressman Mike Michaud, the Ranking Member of the House Veterans’ Affairs Subcommittee on Health, sent a letter to the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) in response to a VA Office of Inspector General report on the mismanagement of opiate treatment at the Calais community-based outpatient clinic (CBOC). Michaud had previously sent a letter to the Maine VA Healthcare System calling on them to fill the full-time provider position at the CBOC.

Michaud Announces USDA Energy Investment in Lewiston

BANGOR, ME – Today, Congressman Mike Michaud announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has awarded Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) funds to a Maine business for energy efficiency improvements. In June, Michaud introduced legislation to renew REAP, which has provided Maine with over $49 million in investments since 2009.
