Washington has created one obstacle after another to job creation. So for the small business owner whose trying to get their head up above water it just keeps crashing down on top of them, just one cascade after another. This is a pathway forward that is basically a lifeline to these companies, that says we want to see you prosper, we want to see you expand, and it makes all the sense in the world. 

Chairman Dave Camp has done an excellent job in the Ways and Means Committee of laying out the framework for comprehensive tax reform and comprehensive tax reform is where the action is. But in the interim, this is a very important first step.

I represent suburban Chicago and my district is chalk full of first and second generation companies that are small businesses that are trying to move forward. So whether it’s the folks on main street or the tool and die guys at O’Hare Airport or the small business startups that Cathy spoke about a minute ago, this is the engine that moves things forward. And it’s our hope that it’s taken seriously on the other side and that President Obama embraces it.
