Dear Friend,

Last night I held a telephone town hall conference call to speak with Mississippians about my ideas to create jobs, drive down spending and shrink the size of the federal government. During this call we discussed a number of job creating proposals that the U.S. House of Representatives has passed as part of our pro-growth agenda that creates jobs without expanding the federal government’s role.

Below I have included a list of 15 House-passed bipartisan jobs bills that are stalled and awaiting action in the U.S. Senate.

Regulatory Relief

The U.S. House of Representatives has advanced several bills that would reign in the excessive federal regulations that stifle job creation, hamper innovation and postpone investment in the economy.

H.R. 872, the “Reducing Regulatory Burdens Act of 2011”

• Passed the House by a vote of 292-130 on March 31, 2011
• Senate has taken no action to date

H.R. 910, the “Energy Tax Prevention Act of 2011”

• Passed the House by a vote of 255-172 on April 7, 2011
• Senate has taken no action to date

H.J.Res. 37, a resolution “Disapproving the rule submitted by the Federal Communications Commission with respect to regulating the Internet and broadband industry practices”

• Passed the House by a vote of 240-179 on April 8, 2011
• Senate has taken no action to date

H.R. 2018, the “Clean Water Cooperative Federalism Act of 2011”

• Passed the House by a vote of 239-184 on July 13, 2011
• Senate has taken no action to date

H.R. 1315, the “Consumer Financial Protection Safety and Soundness Improvement Act of 2011”

• Passed the House by a vote of 241-173 on July 21, 2011

• Passed the House by a vote of 262-161 on October 6, 2011

H.R. 2250, the “EPA Regulatory Relief Act of 2011”

H.R. 2273, the “Coal Residuals Reuse and Management Act”

American Energy Production

The U.S. House of Representatives has advanced several bills that would result in increased domestic oil production and put Americans back to work, leading to a reduced dependence on foreign oil and lower gas prices at the pump.

• Passed the House by a vote of 266-149 on May 5, 2011
• Senate has taken no action to date

H.R 1229, the “Putting the Gulf of Mexico Back to Work Act”

• Passed the House by a vote of 263-163 on May 11, 2011

H.R. 1231, the “Reversing President Obama's Offshore Moratorium Act”

• Passed the House by a vote of 243-179 on May 12, 2011
• Senate has taken no action to date

H.R. 2021, the “Jobs and Energy Permitting Act of 2011”

• Passed the House by a vote of 255-166 on June 22, 2011
• Senate has taken no action to date

H.R. 1938, the “North American-Made Energy Security Act”

• Passed the House by a vote of 279-147 on July 26, 2011
