Last week, I had the opportunity to speak to National Guardsmen at Key Field Air Guard Base during their monthly drill weekend. This base has been tasked with several important missions involving various platforms since the last round of Base Realignment and Closure. From the KC-135 Tanker, to the MC-12, to the C-27J, to the Air Operations Group (AOG), our service members have executed each mission admirably.

The U.S. House of Representatives voted today to repeal the president’s health care law, popularly referred to as “ObamaCare,” on the heels of a 5-4 U.S. Supreme Court decision allowing the law to stand. This vote represented the 33rd attempt by the Republican-led chamber to peel back all or a portion of this law.

House lawmakers voted today to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress for failing to produce documents related to the Obama administration’s botched Fast and Furious program.
Need To Know - Full Repeal
In a 5-4 decision, the U.S. Supreme Court today upheld the president’s health care law. While I have great respect for the Supreme Court, I am tremendously disappointed in this ruling. This decision expands the power of the federal government and leaves citizens with fewer freedoms.

The House of Representatives continued its focus on American energy production this week passing a domestic power package drafted by the House Energy Action Team (HEAT).
Need To Know - EPA Exaggeration
A study published by the American Petroleum Institute and America’s Natural Gas Alliance reveals that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) methane emission estimates from hydraulic fracturing are double the actual discharge figures. The industry-sponsored study tested emissions from approximately 91,000 wells nationwide. Conversely, the EPA used assumptions to craft agency standards.

The House voted this week to reverse three more provisions of the president’s health care law and give Americans greater flexibility when utilizing health savings accounts.

House policymakers passed a user fee agreement this week between industry stakeholders and federal authorities for prescription drugs and medical devices.

America is a nation that celebrates freedoms. The freedom of speech, or of the press. The right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. These liberties are established by the Constitution and allow citizens to enjoy a life of independence.
