Welcome to Maryland’s Commitment to Veterans

Maryland’s Commitment to Veterans is an outreach and referral initiative designed to serve those that have served our country. As we aim to connect veterans to behavioral health services in a timely manner, we hope that the families, friends and neighbors of Maryland’s veterans will also take a moment to learn about the challenges facing our brave citizens upon their return.

America could not succeed without the dedication and sacrifice of our military professionals; however when they return from combat, too many veterans are discovering an unfortunate reality. It is nearly impossible to see clearly through complicated paperwork and an overburdened USVA system, let alone find medical services necessary to begin a new chapter of life outside of the armed forces.

Maryland recognizes the challenges our heroes face and we are taking action. Our State serves as a national model to bridge the gaps between veterans and the behavioral health services needed to succeed in civilian life.
