WASHINGTON – House Republican Conference Chairman Jeb Hensarling (R-Texas) issued the following statement today to congratulate Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) on her election as the next Conference Chairman.

“Cathy is a strong selection by the Conference to lead us as our next chairman and I congratulate her on her victory. Since her arrival to Congress in 2005, Cathy has been a steadfast champion of the principles that make America strong and keep us free. Over the past four years, Cathy’s service as Conference Vice Chair demonstrated her ability to communicate our shared conservative values and guide our Members with an extraordinary understanding of the issues facing our nation. I believe both our party and the House as a whole will be very well-served with Cathy presiding over our Conference.
