OLSON & HOUSE COLLEAGUES URGE APPROVAL OF KEYSTONE XL PIPELINE

Washington, DC– Rep. Pete Olson (R-Sugar Land) today joined with several House colleagues to urge President Obama to approve the Keystone XL pipeline project in a timely manner. House members reiterated the 120,000 direct and indirect jobs that will be created through development of this pipeline and the benefits of reducing American reliance on Middle East oil. Canada has an abundance of energy they want to sell to us, but they cannot wait forever and China is a ready customer.

"This pipeline has been studied and determined to be safe. America cannot wait another year for this project to go forward," Olson said. "Election year politics should never trump the needs of working families. President Obama should not punt this decision until after the elections. If he wants to punt, he should try out for the Chicago Bears. The American people need a leader."
