CME Accreditation and Disclosure

CME Providership Accreditation Information The American Medical Association is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The American Medical Association designates this journal-based CME activity for a maximum of 1 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditTM per course. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Physicians who complete the CME course and score at least 80% correct on the quiz are eligible for 1 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditTM.

Off-Label Drug Use Statement Some drugs discussed for specific indications in JAMA and JAMA Network Journal CME articles may not be approved for labeling and advertising for those indications by the United States Food and Drug Administration.

CME Deadlines CME courses may be taken for up to 3 years after they are published.

Disclosure of Financial Relationships Final decisions regarding manuscript publication and CME content are made by an editor who does not have any relevant relationships with a commercial interest; thus, the editor has nothing to disclose.

Disclosure information for authors is included with each article.

MOC Statement Successful completion of JAMA Network CME activities, which includes participation in an evaluation component, enables the participant to earn MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.

Effective for credit earned beginning October 2015, the JAMA Network will submit participant completion data. If you do not want your completed activity information submitted, please go to moc-reporting.jamanetwork.com. Simply go to the “My Preferences” area of the MOC reporting preference site, log in and select your opt out preference. You will still receive CME credit from The JAMA Network but this information will not be transmitted to the ACCME.

Obtain AMA PRA Category 1 CreditTM by reading an article and completing a brief online quiz. Expired courses are no longer available for credit, but are useful practice for managing your educational experience. There is no charge to take a practice course until submitted for credit.
