Lamborn Honored for Promoting Jobs

One of the nation’s largest pro-growth advocacy groups, Club for Growth, has honored Congressman Doug Lamborn with this year’s Defender of Economic Freedom Award. Lamborn received a 100 percent rating for his voting record in 2010. Lamborn ranked highest in the Colorado delegation and is one of only five Members of Congress to achieve a Lifetime score of 100 percent.

“This award recognizes my consistent effort to fight for our nation’s job creators. Americans are looking for leaders with a jobs plan. Club for Growth and I have been pushing such a plan for decades – it’s called free enterprise and it works.”– Congressman Doug Lamborn (CO-05)

"With his score of 100, and a lifetime score of 100, Congressman Lamborn has demonstrated that he is on the side of economic freedom and not just at election time, but every time. The Club for Growth values Members of Congress who stand on principle over political expediency. The people of Colorado are lucky to have strong pro-growth representation in Congress." - Club for Growth President Chris Chocola

The rating examines all legislative actions that affect the group’s pro-economic growth policy goals, including:

  • Lower marginal income tax rates
  • Cutting and limiting government spending
  • Death Tax repeal
  • Expanding free trade
  • Legal reform to end abusive lawsuits
