Jobless rates were lower in November than a year earlier in 322 of the
372 metropolitan areas, higher in 36, and unchanged in 14. Nonfarm
payroll employment was higher in 288 metropolitan areas over the year,
lower in 77, and unchanged in 7.

In November, 45 states and the District of Columbia reported over-the-month
unemployment rate decreases and 5 states had no change. Nonfarm payroll
employment increased in 30 states and decreased in 20 states and the district.
