The is the first in what will probably be a long series of guest posts from Abigail and Josh Van Gelder, who will be traveling the country with our Gateway to Knowledge exhibition-on-wheels. This one comes from Abigail:
It finally came time to pack up our suitcases and move into our traveling home; we’ve grown to love this semi more than anywhere else. The trip we are starting will take us all over the country and into some fine American communities. While touring with exhibits is not new to Josh and I, launching one is.
It’s a pretty amazing and nerve-racking feeling taking out a new exhibit with not a scratch on it. It gets quite a reaction everywhere we stop; we are already getting tons of questions about what we’re hauling from folks passing by.
Today we finish our route to Washington DC and will be placing the rig onto the National Mall this evening. Tomorrow we open the doors greet guests from all over the country. It’s hard to express our excitement after months of planning work to bring this to you.

I hope that you have a wonderful tour and that your large van remains scratch-free — clumsy as I am, I never attempted to drive anything larger than a compact car — with automatic transmission!

I guess than this gateway to knowledge will be wonderful,but it’s a few probably than it reach my country.However sometime in the future,it can reach this farest country remember to visit Santa FE city,Argentinien.Many thanks

Thank you for creating this wonderful way for people to have access to knowledge.
I’m a 5th grade teacher from Sacramento, California and would like to see the Gateway to Knowledge exhibit-on-wheels come to our school’s neighborhood. Because of the severe budget cuts, our students no longer have a librarian nor access to library service. However, our teachers, if time permits, can provide library service for their students. Unfortunately, this is extremely difficult due to more demands on our instruction time because of pressure to improve test scores, and increased class sizes.
I hope that in the near future our students in California will experience the wonderful service provided by the Gateway to Knowledge exhibit-on-wheels.
