Lamborn Presses Fish & Wildlife Director on Preble Listing

Rep. Lamborn (R-Colorado Springs) today questioned US Fish & Wildlife Director H. Dale Hall on the controversial listing of the Preble meadow jumping mouse on the Endangered Species list at a Congressional hearing.

The House Natural Resources committee today held a hearing on the process involving implementation of the Endangered Species Act. Rep. Lamborn ensured that written testimony submitted by Dr. Rob Roy Ramey, a noted scientist closely involved in the Preble process was included, as well as a letter written by Senator Wayne Allard (R-CO) to Interior Secretary Dirk Kempthorne outlining several concerns with the entire process involving Preble.

Lamborn also posed key questions to FWS Director Hall regarding the original listing of the Preble mouse and the subsequent process up to this point. On July 25th Rep. Lamborn sent a letter to Secretary Kempthorne outlining several of the points raised today.
