In case you missed it, Congressman Jack Kingston (R-GA) talks about gun control on MSNBC Live with Thomas Roberts. Congressman Kingston supports reviewing federal laws to make sure we are doing what we can do prevent future tragedies but is concerned that focusing solely on gun laws misses the point and could lead to a false sense of complacency.

Wouldn't someone addicted to violent video games have LESS of a reason to shoot up a school? He'd be too busy playing video games!

Use the death of 20 kids as a soapbox for your ignorant views against gamers.

    Good job.

I like some violent movies and video-games, it doesn't mean I'm going to shoot up some school. My parents weren't stupid, they taught me right from wrong BEFORE I was ever introduced to these things. I know that killing someone is one of the worst solutions to a problem.

As for getting a weapon, I live up here in Canada, I'm going to have difficulty obtaining anything more than a single shot hunting rifle, and an even harder time obtaining anything illegal.

violent video-games and Hollywood are secondary issues. the primary focus of the conversation should be physiological problems, family issues, assault class weapons, and storage of weapons in general. I see little to no reason to have clips of weapons accessible to the public that have more than 10 rounds.

Violent video-games and Hollywood only become problems when the parental responsibility falls apart. It's not the video-games or movies fault that its a better parent than some parents are.

lets have a look at what Mr. Jack Kingston said about school shootings in the EU vs. USA: "preview tinyurl com s2x89"

20 since 1913 in the EU vs. "sorry, too many to count right now" in the USA

    "preview tinyurl com cevn982"

isn't it a sign already, that the USA have their own article about schoolshootings on wikipedia?

and isn't it time the USA did something, when a country like germany is discussing stricter gun controll, even as we already have some of the strictest gun laws?

I agree with the congressman: the conversation needs to include more than assault weapons and high-cap magazines. It needs to include everything that goes into making somebody into a mass-killer.

Hey guys I have this plant. And I need to water the plant.Congressman Jack Kingston's plan goes as such. "Well you can't just water the plant! I mean there are other factors. We should dig a trench around the plant about five feet around the plant. Put water in there and kick at there trench. Then maybe some of that there water will get on the plant." Just restrict guns. Don't cut around the issue just do it.

I suppose we should be grateful Representative Kingston chose to potentially blame everything. Because you know, Hollywood and games have the same influence on a young man as their relationship with their families and loved ones. This was horribly worded is what I'm getting at.
