Hastings Works to Protect Wenatchee Valley Medical Center

While speaking to the Moses Lake Rotary Club, Congressman Hastings noted that the threat in Congress to the Wenatchee Valley Medical Center remains very real.  Congress is expected to vote on a Medicare bill as soon as this week that could include a provision that would outlaw the Medical Center as it’s existed for 67 years.

This week Congressman Hastings sent a letter to key lawmakers urging them to abandon or change any proposal that would threaten the Wenatchee Valley Medical Center.

The Medical Center is based in Wenatchee, and has facilities in East Wenatchee, Moses Lake, Cashmere, Royal City, Omak, Tonasket and Oroville.

Energy Legislation Raises Taxes, Ignores Hydropower and Nuclear

Last week the House of Representatives passed an energy bill written by House Democrats that raises taxes, increases gas prices and power bills, causes thousands of lost jobs, and ignores hydropower and nuclear as solutions.

“This bill won’t become law and it shouldn’t become law.  It won’t lower gas prices – it’s going to increase them.  It totally ignores nuclear power as a non-emitting energy source.  It totally ignores hydropower as a clean, non-emitting, renewable energy source.  It raises taxes by unknown billions."
