Honored to be named the Vice Chairman of the House Budget Committee. It will be a privilege to work with Chairman Paul Ryan and the fellow members of the committee during the 113th Congress to help correct the fiscal course of our nation.- President Obama knows that raising taxes destroys American jobs. That's why, two years ago, he joined Republicans in extending the tax rates. Why, now, does he support a tax hike that would fund government for only eight days and destroy at least 700,000 jobs? House Republicans are proud to stand with American families, taxpayers and job creators in opposing tax rate increases!

Happy 376th Birthday to the National Guard! Thank you for all you do in defending our freedoms at home and abroad.- HONORING OUR HEROES
Last week I had the opportunity to speak with a constituent of mine, Eugene Abt. Mr. Abt, 86 yrs old, is a World War II veteran who served in the infantry division of General Patton's Third Army. While speaking with him,... I learned that his grandson is following in his footsteps, currently serving our nation overseas as a Marine in the Middle East. I wanted to take the time now to thank Mr. Abt and his family for their service and sacrifice to our nation. Men, women and families like the Abts allow us all to live free.
